What the badge doesn’t mean…
This doesn't mean that the person who displayed their badge will never make a mistake or "knows all the answers." It isn't a rubber stamp or a free pass. The road to unlearning a harmful status quo that has been perpetuated for centuries is a long and uneven process. We never stop being able to learn more about ourselves and each other.
Members of The Culture of Respect community value...
Getting comfortable being uncomfortable
Taking risks and being vulnerable
Learning from and trusting the lived experiences of others
Listening and using their voice
Learning from their mistakes
Taking accountability for both the intent and impact of their words and actions
Compassion and acceptance for themselves and others
